Lion on Horseback

We’ve been really busy since my last post, as well as more lessons working on height and technical lines etc. I’m now starting to look at 80’s and think they’re ok and Murphy seems to quite enjoy them being a bit bigger 😀. We’ve also had some time working on me with a rider assessment at Hartpury and have taken some exercises away. I do feel that it has made a difference even after one session.

We‘ve walked a BE80 course at the venue I’m looking to enter for the challenge and although one or two did initally think 😳 it is definitely do-able, just need some practice.

After all the rain we’ve had recently we’ve not had a good run of competitions and still not managed to do anything on grass yet. Hopefully our luck will change as we've have some XC schooling on Saturday and have entered another Hunter Trial on Sunday. We also have our first ODE of the season (70cm) the following weekend so I'm hoping this nice weather will hang around for a while.

Gingerberry has also been busy making some new friends; I'm a member of the Tetbury Lions, after they published our story in the Tetbury Advertiser and voted to make a very generous donation to our challenge, Gingerberry decided to accompany me to the Wacky races and help out with the scoring, I think he enjoyed getting out and about with the locals and found a new buddy, 'Bertie'.

Finally, I've had a slight change of mindset, I've known for a while that this challenge is achievable, the difference?

I’m now starting to believe it 😍
