Indra Morris reports on Munstead (2)- 16th September 2017

What a day. Huge congratulations and respect to everyone who made it there. Commiserations to the 2 Wobbleberries who had to withdraw before the day due to horse injuries (thankfully both will be well). And a huge thank you to Munstead who put on a dedicated section and continued to show the great support they have since we first got in touch earlier this year. And thanks too to the Wobbleberries who volunteered on the day - in the show jumping judges box, on fences and collecting dressage sheets.

20 Wobbleberries in the section and it was such a joy watching. Bittersweet for 2 of us aiming to have entered but not having been ready.

The triumphs and tears  were a reminder of how tough this challenge is. 6 were eliminated show jumping (time a big issue) though support from spectators never waned! One Wobbleberry had a fall in the XC warm up but is thankfully fine. 10 went on to cross the XC finish line with Debbie Baird winning on the wonderful Gomez on 29/4/6.8. Debbie was a Wobbleberry completing her second BE having first completed at Calmsden. A wonderful cake baked by Claire [Yeardsley] was presented to Flis Flanagan for being the oldest placed combination. Prize giving was a bundle of joy under a threatening sky!

Wobbleberries competing that day have raised a total of £7,400 . And we are not stopping there! Huge respect. And good luck to everyone training over the winter for 2018.
